Martin Carreon
Having always been fascinated with diving after watching various sea themed television including Sea Hunt, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Flipper, Jacques Cousteau and Diver Dan, Martin was eager to try this sport out. It wasn’t until 1984 when he was able to realize this goal. He took to diving like a fish to water and never looked back.
Martin worked as divemaster for various dive shops and dive boats, including Chamber Day boats. He saw the industry change and dive shops come and go. In 1994, the environmental bug struck and he became involved with underwater cleanups. A few years later, this expanded to beach cleanups and volunteer water monitoring.
He contributed to the Bight ’98 project as a responsible party for collecting and evaluating trash debris on Orange County beaches. Results were published in a trade journal with credits.
