Rick Lindwall

Rick’s first dive was with his wife and son in a Discover Scuba Class on Maui more than 20 years ago, diving with Green Sea Turtles, which he loved.  However, it would not be until 2018 that he got Open Water Certified.  Feeling the ‘human in water’ equivalent of a ‘fish out of water,’ he kept taking classes, eventually earning his Master Scuba Diver card from PADI in 2022.

He loves diving in kelp forests as much as on coral reefs, especially enjoying light filtering down through the forest canopy.  He volunteers as a citizen scientist/data entry nerd/photographer for Reef Check (www.reefcheck.org) to monitor the health of the kelp forests up and down the west coast.  This year he signed up to volunteer for Ocean Defenders Alliance which works to remove trash/discarded fishing nets/gear from the ocean floor.

His day job is as a doctor of chiropractic in his 40th year of practice.  His wife of over 45 years is also a diver and they enjoy their two adult children and three grandkids, whom he hopes to get certified when they get old enough.
