Black Coral tells the harrowing, amazing and occasionally amusing stories of the Black Coral divers of Maui in their own word. It recreates the beauty, addiction and danger of

Harvesting the Hawaiian state gemstone. Right or wrong? Inspiring or insane?

Destructive or sustainable? In the end, Black Coral does what few other documentaries dare to do- it gives you the unbiased facts and allows you to draw to your own conclusions.

 

Writing, Directing, Producing

Brothers Brett and Jedd Winn (list alphabetically, not in order of importance) have a dream – to make positive, impactful media viewable by the broadest possible audiences. We love good storytelling and use modern media as a means of communication, persuasion, and artistic expression to challenge, entertain, and educate audiences. Currently we in a “writing” phase, putting as many original ideas as we can into usable formats, but we are always open to new and exciting possibilities.
